My kiddos were born to live in the country. I'm pretty sure the city is not their favorite.
The farm is lovely this time of year...
The ticks are plentiful and once one person finds one, the rest of us walk around feelin' for them all day. :) (ewwwe, gross! everyone itch your head!)
My dad's fields are rented out this year so we don't get to actually participate in cutting wheat. But it's ok because cutting wheat is only fun the first couple of days and then the novelty wears off. I told my kids to trust me on this one. I have plenty of memories of sitting in the big red grain truck waiting to run the next wheat load to town. Spitting sunflower seeds and listening to AM radio.
This day we were traveling the backroads into town and we stumbled upon the church my grandparents were married in. Alex squealed with delight at the opportunity to photograph it!
The Friedenstahl Mennonite Church (now owned by an Amish man...and the building itself no longer useable.)
There are about 1000 pictures on Alex's camera of the farm. :) I will keep weeding through the best of them.
Happy Harvesting!

LOL, Jake in a wheat field with a book! Hard to read there!
