"Prayer is the walkie-talkie on the battlefield of the world. It calls in for the accurate location of the target of the Word. It calls in to ask for the protection of air cover. It calls in to ask for fire power to blast open a way for the tanks of the Word of God. It calls in the miracle of healing for the wounded soldiers. It calls in supplies for the forces. And it calls in the needed reinforcements." - John Piper
Kids and I at Walmart. They are watching the engraving on the dog tag they ordered. Exciting stuff, people. And I forgot hair dye. I was going to be a new woman by the time the ash settled in Germany and E could fly home but only a crazy woman would go back into the war zone of Walmart and go through the checkout line again with four kids. I'm not that woman tonight. :)
How many of YOU can say your daughter PUNCHED the dentist today? :)
I CAN. And YES, she did.
But in fairness, it was a reflex when he gave her like the 8th shot in a tender spot. She had difficult teeth pulled today. It was noisy to pull them, if you can imagine that. My teeth hurt just typing it.
My girlfriends make fun of me for befriending the toll lady, or talking to strangers at Backyard Burger.
But I'll have them all know that my friendliness has paid off. :)
My new Starbucks friends let me in on a secret. I could buy their mocha powder and their peppermint syrup and still have my Peppermint Mocha for a whole lot less cash. (PLUS, my in-laws keep me stocked up with $4 expired Starbucks coffee from Meridian grocery)
Couple all that with my awesome husband who left me a surprise when he left the country (i usually hate surprises but they are growing on me). He took the kids to Starbucks and picked me up a fabulous French Press that makes double the amount of coffee that my Aero Press makes. He used his blow money for the month, which is his lunch money. If you know Eric, this was a huge act of love.
And for everyone who knows how much and how quick I drink my coffee, this whole scenario is dreamy.
So, my special gift mixed with my new friends' secrets = a happy mommy this morning during quiet time. Peppermint Mocha at home never tasted so good. YUM.
